Notewll privacy policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
Notewll is a Windows desktop application published by myhai. Contact: [email protected].
Audio and text
Notewll accesses your microphone when you start dictation, note recording, microphone testing, voice enrollment, or hands-free mode. Meeting recording can also capture computer playback when you select Computer or Both. Hands-free mode listens while you explicitly enable it; you can stop it from the app or tray. Obtain permission from other participants before recording them.
Speech recognition runs on your computer. Notewll does not send your audio, transcripts, notes, corrections, or voice profiles to the publisher or a cloud transcription service. Dictation audio is processed in memory; saved notes and meetings can retain audio and transcripts on disk. Personal vocabulary, preferences, saved notes, annotations, tasks, and backups are also stored locally. Optional voice matching stores a local voice profile and is not an identity or security authentication system.
Network connections
The bundled English speech engine works offline. Optional features may require you to install Python, packages, or models from third-party providers, including PyPI, PyTorch, and Hugging Face. Those providers receive ordinary download connection information, such as your IP address, and apply their own privacy policies. The Microsoft Store edition receives application updates through Microsoft Store. Opening help, release, product, or support links uses your browser or email application and the destination service's privacy policy.
Notewll has no publisher-operated account requirement, advertising system, or automatic analytics/crash-report upload. Windows and Microsoft Store may process installation, diagnostic, and purchase information under Microsoft's policies.
Your control
You choose when to record and where to insert or export text. Inserting text into another application, exporting files, sharing a backup, or emailing support can disclose the information you choose to include to that destination. Local notes and audio are not encrypted by default. Optional encrypted snapshots protect their encryption keys using Windows account protection and require the same Windows account and PC to restore. Ordinary ZIP backups and exported copies need their own protection.
Use Storage & recently deleted to manage recordings and notes and to permanently erase items. Deleted notes can remain recoverable until purged or their retention period expires. Copies you export or back up remain wherever you saved them. Removing an optional feature removes its managed runtime/cache when you choose that action; it does not erase your notes. Windows uninstall behavior depends on the installation type and does not remove copies outside the app's managed storage.
Support and changes
If you contact [email protected], the information you choose to send is used to respond and troubleshoot. Please do not send private recordings or transcripts unless they are necessary and you intend to share them. Email is handled by your and the publisher's email providers. This policy may be updated as features change; the effective date identifies the current version.
